Most embarrassing thing that happened to me lately? I was in paying for gas, so my husband gave my 19 month old, Zoe, his cell phone to play with. It’s been a long night and we just had to drive our car in to get fixed. Needless to say, Zoe was cranky and tired, so the cell was the only thing that would placate her.
Suddenly, as we’re driving home, I hear a woman’s voice over the speaker. I grab the phone, thinking she’s dialled China, and no, it’s worse! She’s called the POLICE!!!! The screen said “Emergency call 911” I immediately hang up, because it sounded like a recording, thinking they’re not really there yet.
SECONDS later, who calls back but the police. The guy on the other end was VERY friendly, but wanted to know all my details. I explained that we’d given our daughter the phone (and hubby failed to put the lock on). He just wanted to make sure there was no actual emergency.
Needless to say, I was pretty embarrassed for having wasted their time. Don’t let your toddlers play with your cell phone unless it’s on lock!!

That's funny; I did the exact same thing as a toddler. Except that I used the home phone and the police actually came to the house. 😛
Haha, that's so funny!! (Although I'm sure your parents didn't think so, lol).
They really take the calls seriously, though, which is nice to hear (I can imagine someone in an abusive or hostage situation might lie)… they even wanted to know what kind of cell phone I was calling from!
